Safety routines
Arrival and pickup
A teacher is at the door at 8:30 and again at 3:00. Only adults on a family's pickup list may collect a student, and we ask to see ID until we know you.
Visitors
Visitors ring at the door and sign in at the front table. A parent who volunteers signs in the same way.
Outings
At least two teachers go on every outing, and a parent signs a permission slip for each one. The group stays together and counts off at every stop.
Weather and smoke days
When snow closes the roads, we text families before 7 a.m. On wildfire smoke days the teachers watch the air quality, keep students indoors when it is poor and tell families by text.
Drills
The school practices fire drills and an earthquake drop-and-cover drill each fall and spring, and the meeting hears what the teachers learned.
Illness and allergies
A student with a fever stays home until the next morning, and a teacher calls a parent when a student is unwell. Tell us about allergies at the visit; we ask privately once you enroll.
